Get ready! It’s almost here. The Last Breeze of Summer.
In the Spring of 2012, A Better Jamaica launched and hosted The Jamaica Ball – a collective dinner party fundraiser for 20+ local non-profits at downtown Jamaica’s Jamaica Performing Arts Center. Because of COVID, The Jamaica Ball was last held in 2019. Because COVID is still with us, the idea of an indoor dance party still seems imprudent.
The Last Breeze of Summer – an outdoor dance party to be held in St. Albans Park – will take the place of The Jamaica Ball until it is safe to resume The Jamaica Ball. Like The Jamaica Ball, The Last Breeze of Summer is a collective fundraiser, but it will simply be held in the safety of the great outdoors. Like The Jamaica Ball, 90% of your $50 per person ticket will pass through to the participating non-profit(s) of your choice.
What We’ll Provide:
A Better Jamaica will provide table rounds for ten people, table covers and chairs, a 40’x32′ dance floor, a DJ, and a clean-up crew. Table use will be restricted to ticket purchasers. The dance floor will be open to anyone in the park, regardless of whether or not they have purchased a ticket.
What You’ll Provide:
The Last Breeze of Summer will not be catered. Instead, ticket purchasers and/or participating organizations will bring their own place settings, table decorations, and food.

All White (Who cares that The Last Breeze of Summer is after Labor Day?)

Rain or Shine:
The Last Breeze of Summer is a Rain or Shine event. If the event is totally rained out, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a contribution to your favorite local non-profit.
