Saturday in the Gallery – Our Roots (Exhibition Closes October 23rd)

October 23, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) is thrilled to announce Our Roots, a visual arts exhibition presented in partnership with Fulton Art Fair. Participating artists in Our Roots have chosen to create images that reflect historical events that have added to the American Dream. Others have chosen to express family connections. The exhibit was inspired to combat the rising storm of separatism and division.

Appointments to visit the galleries are available on Saturdays, October 2nd and 23rd, 12-3pm (RSVP here). Appointments are also available Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm by emailing [email protected]. Entry is free.

Along with the exhibition, Our Roots will feature a number of free programs including a hands-on workshop with painter and printmaker Valerie Williams (with a new Creation Station set up in the gallery), a virtual Artist Talk and a Printing Demonstration at JCAL. The exhibition is on view from September 7th though October 23rd. For more information, visit jcal.org/current-upcoming-exhibitions
