New York Urban League’s Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship 2022 Application (Deadline: March 19th)

The New York Urban League is proud to announce the release of the application for the 2022 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship. One time scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $5,000 will be awarded to college bound students starting college in Fall 2022.

Scholarship Application Eligibility Requirements:
New York City Residents – Applicants must live within the 5 Boroughs of NYC;
Racial/Ethnic Minority Heritage – Applicants must identify as having at minimum 50% African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and/or Native American/Indigenous Heritage;
Of excellent character and proven leadership ability, with a demonstrated commitment to community service and extra-curricular activities;
Classification – ONLY Graduating Seniors, Recent High School Graduates / High School Equivalency Diploma Recipients will be considered;
Accepted as a full time and first-term matriculating freshman at an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Baccalaureate or Associate degree for Fall 2022;
Applicants that have previously enrolled and/or taken classes, even if not completed, at any institution of Higher Education are ineligible for this scholarship award – this does not apply to Dual Enrollment Credits reflected on High School Transcripts.

The Scholarship Application window closes Saturday, March 19, 2022 @ 11:59. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. Candidates will be contacted by April 19, 2022 regarding the status of their scholarship application.
