Mayoral Control of New York City Schools Public Hearing

On Monday, December 18, 2023, the New York State Education Department will be hosting a public hearing on the effectiveness of mayoral control of New York City Schools at Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical High School in Queens from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. All members of the public—including students, parents, teachers, school administrators and staff, and individuals with experience and expertise in education policy and school governance—are invited to provide feedback on their experiences, assessments, and/or review of the mayoral control system of New York City schools.

This public hearing will be conducted in-person and will be livestreamed and recorded.
