Meet the Teaching Artist – Indo Aboki—born in NY, raised in Nigeria, Kenya and Brazil—is constantly inspired by her African and South American upbringing. Her love of fashion led her to return to NYC after graduating high school in Brazil to pursue a degree in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of technology. While working as a teaching assistant, she discovered a passion for teaching fashion as well. Her experience in the field includes stints at such NY-based fashion houses as Catherine Malandrino and Kosibah. In 2017, after showing her own collection as part of Fashion Week, she broke out to create her own brand, Indo Lami, and she continues to teach fashion design.
