$300Drawing and Painting is an introductory course designed to develop fundamental skills and techniques in visual art. Through a series of exercises and projects, students will explore various drawing and painting materials, methods, and concepts. Emphasis will be placed on observational drawing, composition, color theory, and the expressive qualities of different mediums.
Learning Objectives:
1. Develop Drawing Skills: Students will learn to accurately depict forms, proportions, and perspectives through observational drawing exercises.
2. Explore Painting Techniques: Students will experiment with different painting techniques such as watercolor, acrylics, and oils to understand their unique characteristics and applications.
3. Understand Composition: Emphasis will be placed on composition principles such as balance, focal points, and spatial relationships to create visually engaging artworks.
4. Learn Color Theory: Students will study color theory and its practical application in mixing colors, creating harmonies, and conveying mood and atmosphere in their artworks.
5. Expressive Potential: Through both drawing and painting, students will explore the expressive potential of art mediums to communicate ideas, emotions, and narratives.
