JCAL’s Meet The Playwright: “Queen Bess – The Bessie Coleman Story”

JCAL is thrilled to announce that Meet the Playwright will return next month and for the first time, it will take place in person at our black box theater.
Meet the Playwright is a curated script-development series showcasing local Queens theatre artists. The first play will be “Queen Bess – The Bessie Coleman Story” by Tommie J Moore.
Bessie Coleman was an early American civil aviator. She was the first African-American woman and first Native American to hold a pilot license. She became a high-profile pilot in notoriously dangerous air shows in the US.
