Traditions Festival Online ’20 (Artistic Submission Deadline)
King Manor’s Traditions Fest is back on! Online, that is. For the past five years, Traditions Festival has been King Manor’s way of celebrating the myriad of cultures represented in Queens from the 18th century to the present day. Even though Covid forced us to put our in-person celebration on hold, we remain committed to our mission of supporting and providing a platform for local artists, arts organizations, and craftspeople in Queens and beyond to share their work, celebrate the diversity of the World’s Borough, and highlight social justice issues in the community.
The deadline for cultural and artistic submissions has been extended to July 25th
King Manor is calling for submissions of creative cultural expression that celebrate heritage, identity, and minority voices while also tackling social justice issues in our community such as racial inequity, immigration, feminism, and LGBTQ+ rights. This opportunity is open to any 18+ resident of New York City or Long Island! Selected submissions will be awarded an honorarium and be curated into a public, online gallery.
Like their normal Traditions Fest celebration, this is meant as a way to highlight what you already do! There is no requirement to create a new art piece, and previously exhibited work is welcomed as long as it fits the theme! You retain all rights to your content.
