David Heron’s Romantic Comedy

Love and Marriage and New York City is award winning Jamaican playwright David Heron’s fourth play and his biggest international success to date. Set to the magnificent music of Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly – and providing a modern day parallel to that classic tale of broken hearts and lost love- the play follows the fortunes of two Jamaican born couples living in Manhattan who get married strictly for green card purposes, only to discover- as Butterfly herself did- that no marriage is ever purely about business.
