An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until March 15, 2022

Based on the writing of Audre Lorde, conversations will be facilitated by Stephanie D. Delia, an immigration attorney with deep roots in Southeast Queens.

JCAL Reads will take place via Zoom starting Tuesday, February 22nd, at 7pm, and continue each Tuesday through March 15th. The program is free and open to the public. No books are required; JCAL will supply all readings for free. RSVPs are preferred, and can be made here.

The featured text is entitled Your Silence Will Not Protect You! – The Writing of Audre Lorde. This Reading and Discussion series provides participants an opportunity to discuss Lorde’s writings as they explore issues of race, class, gender, and sexuality. Lorde’s powerful voice, documented in her poems, essays, speeches, biomythography and Cancer Journals, remain vital and instructive. The text provides keen insight into the differences that strengthen American society.
