11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

January 19 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us that service is not optional it is our responsibility to one another.
I’m honored to present the 11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way. This year’s program is a celebration of Dr. King’s legacy through music, poetry, speeches and performances that reflect the power of collective action and community healing.
I’m grateful to stand alongside our partners and colleagues in public service, including Congressman Gregory Meeks, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Senator James Sanders Jr., Assembly Members Alicia Hyndman, Clyde Vanel, Khaleel Anderson, Larinda Hooks and Vivian E. Cook as well as Council Members Selvena Brooks-Powers, Nantasha Williams and Ty Hankerson.
Together, we recommit ourselves to Dr. King’s mission service, unity and nonviolence and to the work that continues long after the day ends.
Join us on Monday, January 19 | 12–3 PM at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center.
