Awarded the Second Prize at the 2017 Cooper International Violin Competition and Silver Medal at the 2017 Stulberg International String Competition, Qing Yu Chen is a rising young violinist of extraordinary potential. A National YoungArts Foundation finalist, she has made appearances with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, Shattered Glass Ensemble, and Cleveland Orchestra in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Severance Hall. Qing Yu is a freshman in Columbia University and the Juilliard School and studies with Masao Kawasaki, Li Lin, and Cho-Liang Lin. She performs on a 1854 Raffaele Gagliano on generous loan from the Doublestop Foundation.
Li Yu Chen is currently a high school freshman at Queens High School for the Sciences at York College. She has been studying at the Juilliard Pre-College School since she was 12 y.o. with Mr. Masao Kawasaki. She has frequently performed in chamber music concerts at the Juilliard School, as well as in school concerts and events. She started piano at the age of 4, and developed an interest in the violin when she was 6. When she was 11 years old, she was awarded Gold Medal at the AADGT International Competition “Passion of Music 2015”, as well as First Place in the American Protège International Concerto Competition. In 2018, she was awarded the Grand and First Prize at the Sound of Manhattan Festival and Competition at Adelphi University.
Jenny Jiang, celloist, is a 15 years old freshman at the Spence School. She studies at the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School with Minhye Clara Kim.
